Murray & Daru
In April 2007, Canstruct undertook a project for Qld Rail for the construction of railway bridges at Murray River and Daru Creek, near Tully in far North Qld.
This rail infrastructure project proved challenging due to the area having the highest average rainfall in Australia plus the fact that the new bridge was constructed on the same alignment as the existing working main rail track. This meant that construction, machinery and manpower needed to be thoroughly planned and kept to programming schedules.
Murray River and Daru Creek bridges were successfully completed in March 2008.
