In 2010 Canstruct successfully built a library/resource centre and a multi-purpose hall at the Rainworth State School in Bardon, Brisbane. The library was completed 16 weeks ahead of schedule whilst the multi-purpose hall (which was the most difficult to construct due to the steep terrain) was completed two weeks ahead of schedule.
Rainworth State School has very limited space which was difficult to access. The two main challenges Canstruct faced with this job was that the terrain for the multi-purpose hall was extremely steep and construction was undertaken during the school term. This made safety the number one priority. Fortunately the job went very smoothly and no injuries or accidents occurred.
Canstruct designed the building to sit securely and safely off an eight metre drop embankment. The purpose of this design was to ensure that no building encroachment on the childrens’ play space and sporting fields.
“From the very first meeting, I found the Canstruct and Force 10 team to be professional, easy to work with and flexible. We are really pleased that the Library is built on the Force 10 building system, as we now have a cyclone and storm safe-haven at the school in case of emergency. The speed of construction was great and the Canstruct and Force 10 people, a very positive, can do team.”
