Canstruct makes the grade with Queensland Leaders!

CEO of the Canstruct and Force 10 Group, Rory Murphy has completed with flying colours the Queensland Leaders structured year-long program. Rory heads up the Group that was founded by his father Robin Murphy who is still intimately involved in the business. The company was first established as JB Murphy and Company in 1967 and has a proud civil engineering and construction history active in all states and PNG.
Rory was presented with his Queensland Leaders Graduating Member trophy at an exclusive business dinner with leading Queensland business leaders.
Rory said: “It is a great honour for our company to have been invited to be a part of this innovative leadership program. Our family owned Group is undergoing rapid change and expansion and sometimes it’s hard to keep up! The Leaders program has given me new skills and confidence to lead Canstruct and Force 10 together with my brothers and father. As a company, we always aspire to be innovative and this Leadership program has been a great opportunity for us in so many ways.”
Canstruct and Force 10 are owned and managed by two generations of the Murphy family. As the companies have been growing rapidly they are in the process of moving their Force 10 operation to new and larger premises in January 2012, whilst retaining their Canstruct office at Darra in Brisbane. The Canstruct/Force 10 Group have appointed three external Directors on their advisory Board to ensure a high level of Governance to all our projects.
The Queensland Leaders program is about developing the knowledge and skills, networks and capital to become the next generation of leading companies headquartered in Queensland. Queensland Leaders assists Members to achieve sustainable growth, manage succession planning and evaluate entry and exit strategies for their business.
Queensland Leaders has a vision to: Assist Queensland private companies become national and international market leaders and develop and enhance the leadership skills of founders and directors.
In 2011 the Group had its biggest year to date with a turnover in excess of $55 million. We directly employ approximately 120 people and keep busy a further 100 people through our sub-contractors and suppliers.
