In February 2012, Canstruct was appointed by the Brisbane City Council to replace the piles for the historic Howard Smith Wharf on the Brisbane River.

This wharf was built in World War 2 and was badly damaged during the Brisbane Floods in 2011. Troy Evans was the Canstruct Project Manager.

“It was quite a short construction period of just five weeks for this Concrete Piling of the Howard Smith Wharf.  I’m happy with the way Canstruct mobilised their staff to get the job done in a timely manner.

It was a job out of the ordinary in that it is a marine environment consisting of concrete infill of steel liners and installation of pile-on extensions to a very tight tolerance.”
