Brisbane bizzoid Rory Murphy has the distinction of being the nation’s top money spinner so far for the annual St Vinnie’s CEO sleep out on June 18.
The head of engineering and building group Canstruct/Force10 had amassed $11,450 as of yesterday, making him both the state and national leader.
Murphy obviously has some pretty generous friends because he also topped the fundraising game last year too.
Deloitte’s top man in Queensland, John Greig, is a distant second at $2200 in the Sunshine State.
By contrast, Vinnies’s Queensland head Peter Maher has just raised a paltry $1 so far. That’s right, only $1. In case that isn’t embarrassing enough, his counterpart in NSW is already at $10,735.
Anyway, Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk dropped by Suncorp Stadium this week to launch the fundraising drive, which has already amassed more than $134,000 from 120 committed CEOs.
